Packing Guide
Packing your shipment properly helps protect your belongings throughout their journey to Ghana. Following these simple guidelines will help ensure everything arrives safely.
Before Collection
Your items should be fully packed and ready before our driver arrives. If you need packaging supplies, we can deliver boxes or barrels in advance and arrange collection once you've finished packing.
Boxes
- Use strong, sturdy boxes that are in good condition.
- Pack them firmly without overfilling or leaving large empty spaces, and seal every edge with strong packing tape.
- Fragile items should be wrapped individually using bubble wrap, towels or clothing for protection. If a box contains delicate items, let our driver know so it can be clearly marked as fragile.
Original Packaging
Where possible, leave products in their original packaging, as it offers the best protection during transit. Items such as cases of drinks or trays of food can often be shipped in their original packaging without needing an additional box. Our team will securely wrap these during collection.
Barrels
- Place heavier items at the bottom and lighter items on top.
- Fill any empty spaces using soft items such as clothing or bedding to prevent movement during transport.
- Ensure the lid closes securely before collection. Barrel seals are also available on request.
Liquids
- Liquids such as toiletries, detergents and cleaning products must be packed and shipped separately from other items to prevent leaks damaging the rest of your shipment.
- Cooking oil is shipped as a separately priced item and should not be packed inside a box.
Appliances & Furniture
- Whenever possible, ship appliances and furniture in their original packaging.
- If this isn't available, protect glass panels and fragile surfaces using suitable protective padding.
Televisions
- Original packaging provides the best protection and should be used whenever possible.
- If the original box isn't available, wrap the screen carefully with protective padding and transport the television upright rather than lying flat.
- Please don't pack additional items inside a TV box, as this may damage the screen.
- All used televisions are tested before collection, and both new and used TVs are checked again upon delivery.
